- Use the Booking Form on this website to list the date and location of your wedding. List a few tentative dates if you do not have a final date or venue.
- I will then check the date/s you listed and let you know if I’m available.
- We will schedule a ‘meet and greet’ Zoom meeting to discuss your wedding ceremony and answer any questions you may have.
- Finally - you book me to officiate your wedding by paying a 50% deposit.
Do you offer walk-in weddings in your office?
Yes and no. The term “walk-in weddings” is a bit misleading.
You reserve a date and a time with me and obtain the necessary documents and photos according to the checklist I provide. Then you arrive at my office on the day and time booked with the required documents and two witnesses and walk in to be legally married!
Why choose a walk-in wedding?
- Convenience: A walk-in wedding is a perfect choice for couples who want an inexpensive, intimate, secular (that is, non-religious) wedding ceremony that is also meaningful. You may want to have a say in how the ceremony looks, feels and sounds.
- Minimal Planning: I offer a private and meaningful ceremony for up to 8 persons, including the couple, your two witnesses and me—no need for elaborate planning or extensive guest lists.
- Spontaneity and Simplicity: Due to the minimal requirements, you can book your walk-in wedding as early or as late as you wish as long as (1) Your chosen date is available, (2) You have two witnesses, and all the necessary documents and photos on the checklist.
- A fuss-free alternative:
- My walk-in venue is a popular choice for couples as an alternative to a large wedding celebration because you cannot afford, or wish to avoid, the expense right now and prefer to be legally married in an intimate and meaningful wedding ceremony just to yourself.
How to reserve a walk-in wedding date?
Contact me to check availability. If the date is available, I require a 50% deposit upfront to book the date. I will confirm your booking and send you a checklist of the required documents. All you need to do is reserve the date and time with me and provide two witnesses and the necessary documents and photos on your chosen day.
Which documents do we get from you?
I will give you an Abridged Marriage Certificate and a copy of your Marriage Register as legal proof of marriage.
Do we have to go to Home Affairs at all?
No. I take care of all the essentials: solemnising your marriage and submitting the documents on your behalf to the Department of Home Affairs (DHA.) After your marriage has been registered, you will only need to go to the DHA if you wish to change your surname/s on your documents (ID, Passport, etc.) or should you wish to apply for an Unabridged Marriage Certificate.
A secular (that is, non-religious) marriage ceremony is a wedding ceremony that is not affiliated with any religion or religious tradition.
To be legally valid, South African secular marriages are conducted by an officiant designated by the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) under the Civil Union Act (2006.)
My secular ceremonies focus on the couple, their union, their love for each other, and the support they receive from their community regardless of religion, ethnicity, cultural background, gender, or sexual orientation.

A typical wedding ceremony lasts between 25 and 35 minutes, including the time taken by the couple and the witnesses to sign the Register.
However, the length of the ceremony may vary depending on the couple's preferences and the specific elements they chose to include in the ceremony. For example – readings, music, and various cultural rituals.
